This project involved the renovation of Dunbar’s Methodist Church. Border Roofing acted as project manager for the whole undertaking, which involved extensive structural and roofing work.
One of the key challenges the project presented was the fact that the Church’s gable end was leaning, due to its age. This movement was stretching the roofing lead and compromising the structural integrity of the whole building. To fix the problem, the gable end was carefully dismantled and then rebuilt ‘on the plumb’. The roof was overhauled and slate vents were installed. All old render and harling was also removed from the Church’s masonry and the building was re-harled and lime rendered.
